Enphase to Debut Their AC battery in Australia

Enphase AC Battery

U.S. micro inverter manufacturer Enphase Energy has decided to launch their new AC Battery in Austrarlia. The PV market in Australia has likely been selected due to its high number of residential solar installations, falling rates of feed in for solar electric, limitations in some states of feed in, and an upcoming surge of consumers seeking more value from PV arrays as subsidized FITs expire.
The additional advantage of Enphase Energy’s AC Battery is that it gets around the need for DC cables and current to power a residential home.

Since the debut last year at SPI in Las Vegas, there’s been much anticipation about the Enphase AC Battery. The lithium-based battery is coupled with Enphase’s energy management and power conversion systems.

Australia was picked because of Enphase Energy’s significant presence down under and their growing 8% market share.

“Australia has always been a strategic market for Enphase. In the last two years since we’ve established a direct presence here, we’ve continued to see strong growth and demand for our microinverter systems. Enphase sees tremendous potential for the AC Battery in Australia and we are delighted to be the first country in the world to be introducing the Enphase AC Battery commercially,” said Nathan Dunn, Enphase Asia-Pacific managing director.
